Cove and Wave
Cove and Wave
the story
Why Cove and Wave?
When weaving my offerings, I was looking to find a name for my services that would portray both birth and me. I have always been drawn to sea - that is where I feel the most peaceful and happy. Cove and Wave together with its marine connection came to me in meditation with the cacao medicine. I feel, it portrays the essence of birth in a beautiful, gentle way. Here, I share a short paragraph about each - cove and wave, and how I see them in the art of birth.

The Cove
Cove is a place of safety and solitude.
Often unreachable and secluded, welcoming only the sound of waves, it makes a safe space for those seeking undisturbed birth. Because that's where our mammalian instincts guide us in birth - towards quiet, towards security and solitude. Mammals stray away from audience and noise, instead leaning towards voluntary isolation. The cove represents that space of freedom where birth can unfold in its own unique way with no interruption.
And I am here to join mothers in their coves upon their invitation.

The Wave
Birth moves in the sacred rhythm of the earthly drum and flows just like waves do. The wave has its root in the depth of the sea, it grows and stretches, reaching its full capacity just to let go in a spectacular release. Birth moves in waves that come and go, each stronger than the other, showing you the full potential of your power. It brings you high, teaches you to let go and dive fully into your expression and your experience. All until you reach the resolution.
